The Brunei City Festival serves as a platform to connect traders, investors, tourists, the community, government agencies and the private sector. It strengthens Bandar Seri Begawan's role as an urban economic hub in the Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA). The 4-day festival was officiated at the Jalan Bendahara car park, Bandar Seri Begawan, 8th January afternoon.

It was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doktor Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism. The festival features a variety of high-impact activities that support the aspirations of sustainable, competitive and people-oriented urban development. It is hoped that the festival will unite the community, revitalize the economy, elevate the image of Bandar Seri Begawan and support regional cooperation. The festival is open to the public from 10 in the morning to 11 at night.
